To start - in the very beginning of the book there is a warning that says this book is SIGNIFICANTLY more triggering than the first one. I was getting lowkey so upset and hopeless with how long Adeline was in captive for and everything that happened to her in so much detail. H.D. Carlton has a way with stabbing you and slowly twisting the knife. And it’s almost that I’m enjoying being stabbed by her and thanking her.

The dual POV’s and hearing how much he really loves her 😩. I remember reading the reviews of the first book and people were talking about rape and how they just couldn’t enjoy the book. LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGs PLS. I had a great time and though the whole book is DETAILED with all the traumatic, horrible and sexy things happening H.D. Carlton wrote everything beautifully and I could not put it down.

She left me hungry for more and now I feel like I won’t stop thinking about it until she comes out with a story for Sibby and Kraven.
