I quite enjoyed Paper Towns but I think Looking for Alaska is the best of John Green's three books.

Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska have a lot of similarities (I haven't read An Abundance of Katherines recently enough to do a full comparison):
1. set in the south
2. similar black close friend character
3. smart characters with querks
4. unreachable girl who the main character has a crush on who has secrets
5. a road trip
6. a good amount is set in school
7. paragraphs of wisdom and ways to think about the world that the writer comes up with
8. they are fun reads that are hard to put down
9. good audiobook readers
10. references to famous literature

In the middle of Paper Towns I kept wanting to get to the end and find out what happened. Most of the action happens in the beginning. I like the fact that this is a teen realistic fiction book with a plot that has more to it than romance.

Definitely a worthwhile read, but if you're choosing between Looking for Alaska and this one, go for Alaska.
