As a muslim, I was thinking the same, but there may be a chance she's not muslim and just Algerian who speaks a lot of arabic regularly. "Ya Allah" just translates to "Oh God", but you know that and you know it doesn't have anything to do with religion.

As a muslim i disagree with you not all of us are religious and even if, we all sin its impossible not to. To expect every muslim to be perfect and to never sin is just unrealistic and toxic. The only thing i agree with is her use of Allah she shouldn’t have used it in the book.

@Nemesis The character was basically there as a token POC character and that’s not the only reason why people are hating her. The author basically fetishizes her one so that’s why people are pissed
