it was ok

Although the book picked up a bit at the end, I found myself really struggling to finish it. It was very slow and dry, and by the time it became slightly intriguing, I had lost interest for the most part. Maguire isn't a particularly captivating writer, and I probably won't bother to finish the series. I'm most likely in the minority on this one, but I don't really see its appeal.

Oh, and the other thing that REALLY bothered me was that an underlying theme of the book was supposed to be about the ideas of good vs. evil...and then Maguire just shoved it all in at the end in 2 pages, when Elphaba was having dinner with Avaric, and the guests were all sharing their ideas about what evil is. Not very subtle.
