Marybeth's Reviews > The Poet
The Poet (Jack McEvoy, #1; Harry Bosch Universe, #5)

I can’t finish this. The characters aren’t compelling, the story line seems to fall apart regularly, everyone seems like a stereotype, and from Jack’s ability to stave off his editor while he traipses across the country, to the FBI letting him ride along on a manhunt,it is just too implausible. And I enjoy implausible when it’s Jack Reacher! But those books are written clean, no long forays into what an old motel room looks like, or Quanticos ambience. Idk. I wanted to know the ending but after reading some reviews, I figure it may not be worth dragging myself through it.
I’ve enjoyed Harry Bosch (he’s ok) and Mickey Haller even more. But this story, meh.
