Leaving Atlanta

Told from three different children's viewpoints, this story was loosely based on the children's murders of the late 70's/early 80's in Atlanta. I found it fascinating to be from the viewpoint of children. It illustrated how panicked and afraid they were during that time in history.
I picked the book up thinking it would give more details about the crimes or about the investigation, or about the victims. It was not historical fiction. The characters were fictional, and it was not meant to be a blow by blow account of the crimes. I liked the author's writing, but it just wasn't what I expected it to be.
I will definitely look for other books by this author.
