it was amazing

I love reading about family histories, because A) I love hanging out with a bunch of characters, B) there are always secrets to uncover and C) they're messy af!!

Thus, I am happy to announce that WOMAN OF LIGHT gave me exactly that from the very first page down to the last sentence! 😭 Even though much of the story centers around Luz, a young girl finding her way through life in 1930s Denver, readers get to unravel her ancestor's stories from within her and it is WONDERFUL.

I wish I had more eloquent words to describe it, but I'm me so all I can is that this book is GREAT!! FANTASTIC!! DRAMATIC!!

I had a moment where I closed it and screamed because it all became overwhelming for a second and....ugh it was just too good, people. Too good.

If you take anything from this poorly-written review, know that this book is beautifully crafted, with a wonderful, colorful and chaotic cast of characters. The story is laced with just the right amount of tension and suspense, yet so so smooth that by the end you can't feel anything but satisfaction and hope.

IT'S AN AMAZING BOOK, READ IT.

And while you're at it, check out Sabrina & Corina by Kali Farjado-Anstine as well. Simply, simply impeccable.
