A good 3,5 rating for me
Read now a few months ago, when I desired to read thrillers and nothing else, I can say that I was absolutely impressed by its plot.
A family killed for no apparent reason on which Detective Aaron Falk will have to solve, specially called to his hometown from where he had fled years before with his father..
Bravo to Jane Harper in developing the various characters and fitting them into the developments of the story, the final twist is certainly sudden leaving the reader pleasantly impressed.
Why such a restrained rating? Because in the second half of the book I found myself bored and tired by its prolonged lack of resolution. The Detective did not always behave respecting the discoveries found in earlier chapters of the book. and some characters were inserted without bringing anything to the story but as filler to the narrative only.
Pretty reading but without any particular praise.




Letto ormai qualche mese fa, quando desideravo unicamente leggere thriller e nient' altro, posso dire che assolutamente colpito nella sua trama.
Una famiglia uccisa senza apparente motivo su cui il Detective Aaron Falk dovrà risolvere, chiamato appositamente nella sua cittadina d' origine da dove era scappato anni prima con il padre...
Brava Jane Harper nel sviluppare i caratteri dei vari personaggi e ad inserirli negli sviluppi della storia, la svolta finale è sicuramente improvvisa lasciando il lettore piacevolmente colpito.
Perchè una valutazione così contenuta? Perchè nella seconda metà del libro mi sono ritrovata annoiata e stanca dalla sua prolungata assenza di risoluzione. Il Detective non sempre si comportava rispettando le scoperte trovate nei capitoli precedenti del libro. e alcuni personaggi sono stati inseriti senza che portassero nulla alla solo ma solo come riempitivo alla narrazione.
Lettura carina ma senza infamia e senza lode.
