it was amazing

Lean concept crept into my world quite a few years ago. I started learning about it on the job, from services perspective. Quite soon I learnt that it originated in manufacturing area, but I didn't know the "story of lean" from Toyota's production perspective.
This book was released in 2007, but the book was left with the originally written content. Only preface and afterword comments on the reason for re-release of the book, and auto-manufacturing world after "The machine" was originally published in 1990.
For all those working towards "lean" production and services, I highly recommend to read/listen to this book. It's a great overview of auto-manufacturing going from craft production, to mass production, and then to lean production. A lot of examples and innovations (for the time) are described and how different approaches were (maybe still are) used in United States of America, Western Europe, and Japan.
So what did I take from this book to my self?
The fact that cars once sold by sales people going to door to door, asking all these personal questions clearly violating todays GDPR, and then using that information to sell the cars without even stepping our of the comfort of your door. Amazing :)
