Klondike Christmas

Jack London didn't find gold in the Klondike but returned home with a wealth of material, the foundation for inspired tales such as The Call of the Wild.
This Christmas tale is a relatively slight offering, and is more of a "scene" than a story. It feels incomplete, and perhaps that is why it is not as widely reprinted as many other short works by London, such as the polished masterpiece To Build a Fire.
However, this story does evoke the atmosphere of the times (the log cabin, made of unmarked wood, measured 10 foot by 12 foot inside, and housed two men in that one room).
Christmas, no matter where you are or what you have, is what you make of it. Beans!
