really liked it

A bittersweet novel. So excited to pick it up and have a "new Sookie adventure" to check out, but sad at knowing it is the last in this fabulous series. As always Sookie's world is a fascinating read. Down home southern and paranormal all wrapped up together with a dose of action, a twist of mystery, and a touch of romance--hats off to Mrs Harris!
As a longtime reader I enjoyed the multiple cameos featured in this novel. I like that we got to see so many characters that have graced the pages of Sookie's story the good, the villians and let's face it there are more than a few that don't fit exclusively into either category. Either way it was fun to see them again.
In Dead Ever After we see Sookie arrested for murder, but the evidence is slim at best. This was a perfect way to showcase all the cameos. Sookie is floored by all the people she finds in her corner so willing to do whatever they can on her behalf. On the flipside she's made a lot of enemies over the years so the suspect list isn't a short one.
I highly recommend this series. This is #13 and I am so glad that I read each and every one of them. These are on my "forever" shelf.
And the ending (which has been scrutinized to no end) was what I always thought would happen.
