it was amazing

You've seen the movie so you know what's coming. No you don't. You know the gist of it.

This book is heartbreaking but so heartwarming in the end. It's not easy for a book to make me cry but this one did it. There's a part that the movie simply didn't look at when they meet Sergio Catalán and their return that is just overwhelming after you've read all they went through. The entire Canessa and Parrado trip lifts your spirit after the rest of the book has completely demoralized you. It could easily get monotonous because the days were very routine for the survivors, but the author knows when to mix other perspectives so as not to bore the reader. I highly recommend this book.
And of course, let's not kid ourselves: most people will read it because of what they had to do to stay alive. The sense you get in the movie is VERY muted versus what you read in the book. very. You don't understand the extent of what they did until you read everything they did to survive.
