That was poetry, you can't fool me. Thomas does a marvelous job of capturing a certain nostalgic tone and also the child not taken in by it and all practical interest in the gifts. Honestly, I think a longer work in this vein would sit ill with me, but this is short enough to be charming rather than just annoying.
I didn't keep up with karen's advent calendar this year, or alternatively, I was saving this for twelfth night.
