The Body Keeps the Score: Mind, Brain and Body in the Transformation of Trauma

Kind of strange to read so many „funny childhood anecdotes my mother loved to tell about me as clinical examples of either cause or symptom of PTSD, lmao.
Great book, though as usual psychologists who focus too hard on one area of study tend to develop blind spots. This becomes especially apparent in the epilogue.
It is important to be aware that you are not necessarily always a victim just because you suffered trauma. There comes a point where you have to take inventory and see if you’ve transformed into a perpetrator instead. Treating PTSD might not be enough then; many will also need to confront their personality disorders head on.
