Read 2 times. Last read February 21, 2014 to November 28, 2015.

The love I have for a certain character with a russian accent unables me to give an objective review for this book. All I can say is that I know someone who just made it into my book boyfriends list.

This book was so much fun to reread. I had forgotten quite a bit! I can’t wait to jump right into the second one. I feel like this is one of those series that gets better with each book.

Can we talk about movie Dimitri?

What the bloody hell is this ? This guy looks like a 40 year old creep to me. Dimitri is supposed to be 25 and hot!
I was picturing him more like this

Agh I have no plans of watching the movie. Ever.

I had a few problems with the book but it was just so much fun to read that nothing really bothered me that much.

I have completely forgotten everything that happened in the second book. Let’s find out.

Pang Life is Hectic again, Wait for me!! Yay! :D

ily The movie sucks but Danila Kozlovsky as Dimitri was everything.

message 3: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi Agh I really don't like how he looks. I have no idea about his acting though.

ily Well, I think he did great. He and Zoey were the only good things of the film. Srsly the rest of the cast was meh.

message 5: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi Yeah, they should let the fangirls/fanboys decide who the cast of the book to movie adaptations should be.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Are you serious, that's Dimitri?!?!?!!?!!?!?!?! I agree he looks so old for the part..

message 7: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi I know, right? He looks like he could be old enough to be her dad.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I kinda want to watch the movie just to laugh about how much older he is that the rest of the cast XD

message 9: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi I'm afraid that if I watch the movie it will change how I pictured him in my mind. I can't risk that.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

True true. I haven't even finished the series yet XD I tried to read the Bloodlines books, but I DNF'd #4

message 11: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi I think you have to finish VA before reading bloodlines.

message 12: by Crysta (new) - added it

Crysta DenOuden Movie Dimitri WAS way too old. His acting was OK. But they could've done better. I did like Zoey though. I also thought that Sarah Hyland made a great Natalie, and the dude they chose for Victor Dashkov was pretty close to how I pictured him. I just didn't like Mason or Lissa, and Christian was pretty much how I pictured him and Dominic Sherwood was good at the snarky sarcastic asshole role so I'm excited to see him play Jace Lightwood in Shadowhunters

message 13: by Lisa (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lisa You don't necessarily have to read VA in order to enjoy Bloodlines as everything is explained, but it just doesn't make much sense reading VA after Bloodlines as you have already spoiled yourself the whole series.

Speaking of the Shadowhunters ... I cringe every time I see her fake hair.

Yes, that's what I meant. It spoils everything.
Which one did you like better, Lissa?

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I was spoiled a little bit but I don't care much :P

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

And referring to the Shadowhunter's pic, are you gonna watch the tv series when it comes out?

message 18: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi I think I'll give it a go but I don't guarantee that I'll keep watching because judging from the sneak peek it's not that great.

Leila I don't know why but I can't do re-reads..., I admire your patience.

And Btw you should watch The TV series, don't judje it from the sneak peak. they were still in the early stages of editing and I can also guarantee you that the pilot & 2nd episode are gonna suck and be awkward but I have faith that it's gonna improve.

(or maybe I'm just too optimistic, I kinda liked the movie... it was visually exciting, you know? :) )

message 20: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi It's been a really long time since I read it so it almost didn't feel like a reread.

I will watch the pilot for sure but I'm just not feeling it. Oh, and I hated the movie. It was so cheesy, they made it look so bad.

Leila I probably liked the movie because I didn't read the books first, I didn't know anything about the books. because, because when I read TID a couple of years ago. got davestated (I freaking loved Jim).
I should've payed more attention to the serie order..
I saw it from diffrent point of view than you, that's why I liked it.

But I can understand your dislike.

message 22: by Lisa (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lisa I prefer Vampire Academy, still haven't finished the Bloodlines series actually. The best part about the latter is obviously that there's so much Adrian in it, but Sydney just isn't as good of a protagonist as Rose was, imo.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Same, only because I really enjoyed the books. Although I think it will take a while till the show actually gets really good -- the acting included.

That's okay. I preferred TID anyway.

I don't really remember much of Adrian but I'll keep rereading to refresh my memory :)

I agree, we just have to wait and see.

Irena BookDustMagic I was dissapointed when I saw Danila for the first time.
Don't every watch the movie, they ruined my favorite series and made it look boring and childish at the same time.
I mean, the budget was only 7 millions. What were they thinking? You can barely film a drama with that amount, not a pranormal movie with special effects.
Plus, every teenage movie needs to have a good music moments. This one had almost none.

message 28: by Kimi (new) - added it

Kimi THat's what they do with the majority of books they turn into movies. They're all so bad except a few good ones like The Hunger Games and Harry Potter and some others.

Irena BookDustMagic And Perks of being a Wallflower. That one is my favorite!

message 30: by Kimi (new) - added it

I hate it too! Personaly I think Shadowhunter's cast is awful. I only liked the Lightwood brothers. Though I wanna have faith and think she show will be great, what I've seen so far doesn't look nice. I think it's gonna flop.

Claudia See I got more of a Ben Barnes vibe when picturing Dimitri. Look him up if you have no idea who I'm talking about ;)

BookHeroin HAHAHAHA KIMI XD

BookHeroin But really the movie SUCKED. ha! get it? ok i'll go. :P

message 43: by Vish (new) - rated it 5 stars

Vish the movie did really suck and sometimes i wish they should just leave books alone and come with new content than just using books as their story, coz i hate to c a book i love be brutally butchered in this way!
