really liked it

** spoiler alert ** I liked this book, but not as much as I wanted to. I don’t think there’s a clear way for me to get what I feel across well, so I’ll make a little list.

A few things bugged me:
-Do people really call each other by their last names that often? I think that’s just a personal thing for me lol I have never heard anyone refer to me by my last name unless it’s a coach or PE teacher.
-Sometimes, the fluff got too much for me and I needed to take an emotional and mental break. This book could’ve been shorter had a few things been taken out, but I suppose it all worked out great in the end.
-Ryan kinda disappeared off the face of the Earth after one specific party scene? I thought Anastasia & him were supposed to be good friends despite no longer sleeping together, so I kind of wish that was clarified.

BUT there are parts I really liked:
-The communication, validation of feelings, respectful boundaries, importance of consent, and respect for therapy. It was so *chefs kiss*.
-The men in this book? (except one little guy 🙄) They are just so written by a woman. It’s beautiful.
-The characters and their clear, individual personalities really shined through. Dialogue was not interchangeable and everything, while slightly utopian (if that makes sense), felt personable. Almost as if they were real.

Overall, I liked this book. The characters were well written and the discussions were relatable & personable. I had issues with minor stuff, but I mean I still really enjoyed this book.

I don’t always like negative/gloomy female leads, but so far Anastasia seems like a pretty nice character despite this character. Especially with her understanding platonic relationship with Ryan."

Because the characters in this book seem highly self-aware 💀 & how can she claim she needs to communicate when she acknowledges she wasn’t communicating earlier and was being petty? lol idk am I thinking too hard about this?"

Also, I love Nate but he’s so clearly written by a woman 🫶🏻🥹 In fact, almost all the guys are (except Aaron 🙄). Are there guys that are actually like them or am I like a hater lol"

I’m annoyed he STILL has to be her skating partner though smh & I swear he hurt himself 🙄 anyways, 💅 period Henry, period JJ, period Julia (Anastasia’s mom), period Tim (who overheard the tea & told his friends) I mean period hockey team! 🏒 🫶🏻 ⛸️"
