Katie I agree. It was a bit too dry for me also.

GIANNI MANZANO Unfortunately I agree. The six books I read had great elements but where a dry experience for me as well. But, I am glad I read them.


Richard Swartz I also gave it two stars but I gave the next one five (shrug emoji).


Theo I definitely agree this first book didn't really work for me. But I think the Tombs of Atuan is really great and I'd definitely recommend reading that. I seem to recall Book 3 goes back to the same feeling as this first book, but Books 4, 5 and 6 are all lot more interesting (even if, if you click through my reviews, you'll see I had reservations).


AndrewP I don't understand how this book gets such rave reviews when it's core plot is a total rip off of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest'.
