The Thirteenth Tale

This was one of the best books I have read in awhile. It is definitely gothic, like Jane Erye, which the story frequently mentions. Margaret, the daughter of a antique bookstore owner, who writes articles on authors, is summoned to Yorkshire to write the biography of another reclusive woman, a famous author, who, over the years, has told one fabrication after another of her life to journalist, but now decides to tell the truth since she is dying. Well-written. I had a hard time putting the book down after I was 1/4 the way into it.
