I couldn’t even finish this. It was astronomically bad. Probably the worst book I’ve ever read. The sexism makes it hard to even want to read, and George Orwell couldn’t write to save his life. His writing style is horrendous and I’ve never read a slower novel in my life. The plot is good in theory, Orwell just can’t write. I have no idea why this thing is praised. My favorite genre is Dystopian, so originally I thought I’d end up loving this book. But my problem doesn’t come from the portrayal of the government, because I’m a strong believer in that the government is corrupt. This is just a disgusting poorly written book. I tried multiple times to finish the book and force myself to read it, but I couldn’t get further than page 37. But I’ve heard it only gets worse.
