Pagan Spring (Max Tudor, #3)

This is a very charming book on on level and then it becomes a deep look at WWII atrocities and then it becomes something else again. I listened to th audiobook because I can no longer read and it's interesting how deeply some stories affect me. For years I've thought of dishy Max but he is more, even if he is a creation of a very personable writer.
