The Sun Also Rises

The Sun Also Rises was a very interesting book for me to read. Although I did find my self lost on certain points. Like for the longest time I did not know when people talked or where Robert Cohn, a character in the book, was going to be brought up again. I did like the main character a bit and Brett was the least confusing. Part one of this book is just about him meeting everyone in France like Robert and Brett, and talking about what he hates and likes about France. Part 2 is starts a while after the first one, with Brett having left to who she wanted to marry and Jake not seeing as much after, sending a letter to him. He does see her again though in a later time when him, Bill and Cohn meet up with her and Mike. This is around the time the book got confusing for me to follow, the walls of speech weren't helpful in following who was talking. Nonetheless the next important part is where Cohn keeps making advances on Brett, when she eventually sleeps with him, she feels guilty that she did it even when she's already on her way to be with someone else. She lashes out at Cohn who leaves after this, leaving Jake, a bullfighter which was introduced before and Brett left. Soon after, Brett goes with the Bull fighter known as Romero, which leaves who she was going to marry in a state of loss and Robert finally gives up on her and leaves. This is the point of the book where many characters end what they wanted to do or leave without completing what they wanted. In the end, I did understand the book a little more, but I was never fully in the know on what was happening.
