I'm not going to rate this book. It was neither 5 stars nor 1 star; it was nothing in between. This book wasn't horribly written, god no. The first half of the book was absolutely hilarious. The characters were well written with awesome personalities (can Breckin and Six please be my best friends or..?). It's just.... it felt like I've read this story before. I don't know if it's because of Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry or what. The plot doesn't seem very original, and it was extremely predictable. I'm not talking about 'oh it was a bit predictable, I'll it slide', I'm talking about 'Such and such is going to happen, and the ending is going to be like...' and I would be on point. I also couldn't stomach some flashbacks that I read. I hate reading stuff like that.

When I was first introduced to Dean Holder I swear I thought he was going to be like Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. (Won't tell you how, but you'll see what I mean if you decide to read this.) My first wave of emotions were like, 'Noooo, nooo please don't be like Travis. It'll be too unoriginal' *phew* glad he wasn't. Sky, our protagonist is a very amiable character with a very sarcastic attitude and a blunt mouth. She literally speaks whatever is on her mind whether it's embarrassing, good, or bad. I love that about her. (before I continue can I please wonder and ask what's up with Ms Hoover's sense of taste in giving nature names to our female protagonists? In Slammed the MC's name was Lake; in here it's Sky... nothing insulting about my thoughts... I'm just curious).

Whilst I was reading Hopeless, I was extremely entertained till the second half of the book. I found myself constantly stopping and dancing to as well as scrolling up and down on my timeline on twitter - retweeting/favouriting and tweeting absolutely nothing, I was just... scrolling. It seems as though I was avoiding Hopeless for the time being. I'm also wondering again: what have I been reading apart from everyone else and my sister? My sister was bawling her eyes out; whenever I mentioned the word 'hopeless' she'd start to tear and just act really weird. So I decided I needed to read this if it has my sister bawling like an ugly animal. *throws her an evil glare* I think you've tricked me and gave me the wrong book to read because I didn't cry... not once.
