5/5 stars! WOW! This is a stunning start to the “Heroes of the Empire.�� I really appreciated the depth of Velamir and Natassa throughout this story. The pacing of the story was a bit slow in the beginning, but that’s common with the world-building in fantasy series. Once the pace picked up, it didn’t slow down for the rest of the story. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel.
