This is one of the best contemporary books I've read in a while. The voices of the three main characters seem right-on, the book reads fast (especially for being almost 500 pages), and it covers issues that are extremely important. I enjoyed reading these women's stories.
And as much as I enjoyed reading the actual story and seeing how everything was going to play out, I loved, loved reading Stockett's blurb at the end about why she wrote the book. It was beautiful and so extremely sincere. I wish I had more to say here, but I think most of my book-club girls have covered it already (with much more precision), so I'll just wait for a discussion that I think is going to be great. I would recommend this book to most anyone.
