Tetrarch (The Well of Echoes, #2)

I started out with this a year after reading the first one and expecting another 3 star book. The world building and a few characters in the first was enough for me to want to read this. And after finishing it, I am impressed. This was a big, big step up from the first one. I really enjoyed it, thoroughly gripping. A few writing style irritants of course. If I have to read "he, Nish, ..." again in the next one I won't be pleased. Tiaan still doesn't keep my attention as a character but Ullii is wonderful enough to counterbalance it. And the world is gloriously dark. I'm looking forward to the next one, big cliffhanger ending that means I won't allow another year to pass before I continue with the series.
