Rosalyn had been dealt a rough hand in life. Left orphaned, she and her sister were left caring and providing for three more younger siblings. Fate smiles on her when a handsome young Earl invites her and her young family members to spend the summer at his estate , as a companion to his betrothed. He is drawn to her, as she is to him, and although his intentions may be nefarious, they do fall in love. He ,however, is duty bound to marry his betrothed, and can only ask her to be his mistress. I loved how Rosalyn always knew her own worth , and as much as she loved him, she could not compromise her values or the security of her siblings! She put that poor Earl through the hoops, and caused him to evaluate his own shortcomings and the needs of others. Great message and storyline! Loved it!
