An English interpretation of the Holy Quran

what I learned from this book is that Islam is NOT what they say it is in the media and that it is also not what the radicals claim it is. The Qur'an is the perfect companion to our own Holy Bible.

He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution.

and that has some serious benefits. I love the way they use the word torment for what is going to happen to people who ignore the warning . I love the way the prophets are called "warners " and when the people in hell " say " awww come on let us out of here give us another birth and this time we'll take the warning seriously and do good deeds our whole life " The lord or angles or whoever listens to them say "Were you not warned " ( I LOVE IT !!!!) Yeah so now Im WARNED I will suffer a "TERRIBLE TORMENT" if I don't straighten up and fly right . I also like the way they say " God is oft merciful ( I like the word OFT in lieu of always ) and I love how they keep saying Satan is after you to throw you into everlasting torment . HEY ! I need to hear this ! Its doing me good! Its making me perk up and slash the Satan to peices if he should come upon me as i mediate and start talking about cool porn websites . i mean really I have fear of God and this satan (who is the personification of everything that God will punish me for ) comes before me and starts saying how cool it would do this or that taboo online cause "nobody's gonna know " But right there the Quran jumps to my aid and says " God sees all and will send a terrible torment upon those who disobey his commands so I follow the Qurans advise and rush forward( like a jihad ) and kill Satan who is barring my God ward path and trying to make me take a porno detour and i slash that MF to bits and continue on my path back to God --so The Quran is exactly the kind of n book i need . and when ever it talks about killing the non believers and evil doers i just apply that to Satan and other evil spirits (lust , anger , greed ,infatuation with chicks in my path . With fear of gods torment in my heart I rush forward and cut those non believers and evil doers down . I meant is practical stuff and it works. So yeah i give Quran 5 stars. It rocks !!. It kicks ass !!!its clear strong no nonsense book about overcoming evil and staying on the right path. That s just what I need .

I鈥檓 a converted Muslim. I converted when I was just 13 and it was hard considering my parents disowned me. I come from a strict Christian family that believes in the trinity, the fact that Jesus is the son of god etc. Islam gave me hope of light. There are verses in the Quran that say 鈥淜ill the dis-believers鈥 but the Quran can not be properly understood without the help of the hadeets or Narrations of the Prophet of Allah PBUH.
If one is to compare the Bible and the Quran, there are many differences and similarities. The main similarity is the belief in Prophet Isa (Jesus), Virgin Mary (Mariam peace be upon her) and the existence of the Bible.
The main difference is the fact that the Quran does not believe in the trinity or the death of the cross.
Whilst Christians consider Jesus is the saviour, Islam says Jesus was merely a prophet of god.
Whilst Christians consider Jesus to die on the cross for the humans sins. Muslims say that God took Isa up to heaven and he was replaced by someone who looked like him. The Quran says that Jesus will eventually return and lead the world to the correct part.
Carlos, with all due respect, the Quran never says that Jesus ever married and lived into old Age.
And for all fellow Brothers and sisters, please remember to keep your calm and defend Islam in the best of manners.
Jason.

In this chapter, God establishes that human beings are his slaves and that he can do to them whatever he wants to do with them. So, for instance, he can proclaim that you must worship him OR ELSE. This, right here, completely violates the notion that the individual is sovereign over themselves. So I have one basic and ancient question for this monster: by what right?
God says that he has a right to own other people because he created the world and gave you everything that you see before you. I'm going to use a very simple analogy to dissect this point.
If I and my hypothetical wife were to have a child, and then say to our child that we must worshipped in the same way that Muslims are commanded to worship their God, and We said that they must do it because we are the ones that created them, we are the ones that gave them the clothes, food, water, etc. that they need to survive. What would you all think of this demand? I think you will all say that it is nonsense. But what would you then say if I added this to my demand? If you fail to do as I ask, I will skin you alive and then set you on fire. I hope that everyone of you will be disgusted. And since you would be disgusted by this analogy, you should be disgusted by this notion that human beings are mere property.
Then, we come to this next point of evil in this chapter: God has caused the hearts, ears and eyes to be sealed (I take this to mean that they are destined to stay nonbelievers) and has proclaimed that non believers will be placed in the fire, and will remain there. Just think about that. Is that ethical? I don't think it is.
Saying that because someone simply does not believe in something (something God has played a part in) they are deserving of eternal torture. I have no idea how anyone who believes this could pretend to be ethical.

The Holy Quran is so perfect , but we aren't perfect and we make mistakes every day.
So i wish Allah helps us ...all of us to be better insh脿llah.

Not really, the Holy Qur'an has an entirely different message that contradicts the main theme of the New Testament. Althugh the Qur'an does give honor to biblical figures such as Moses, Abraham, Mary the mother of Jesus, etc...it essentially refutes the New Testament contention of the Divinity of Jesus Christ and the message of salvation in Jesus Christ.
True, the Qur'an is a literary masterpiece, in fact, it is the basis for the development of the arabic language and is must reading if anyone wants to understand the arabic and Islamic world view.
But it does present a very unique challenge to the message of the synoptic gospels.
The Gospels proclaim Jesus as the Savior, the Divine Son of G'd...
The Qur'an only honors Jesus as an inspired prophet of G'd.
The gospels declare that Jesus died on the cross and was resurrrected...
The Qur'an states that Jesus did not die on the cross, but that one of his disciples was substituted for Him, and that Jesus escaped, and later married and lived into old age. The Qur'an refers to Him as Isa.
The Gospels declare that Jesus is the only "begotten Son of G'd".....
The Qur'an states that..."Allah had no Son"....
Now in essence, there is some truth to this statement.....if Allah....and the Lord G'd YHWH are two seperate identities...then the Islamic declaration is true...Allah had no son!!!
But if one tries to make the case that the Lord G'd YHWH and Allah are one and the same...
Then the biblical and the Qur'anic declarations are in conflcict and cannot be reconciled.
