A delightful coming-of-age story set in Mississippi. A young girl named Starla sets out to find her mother in Nashville. She currently resides with her grandmother and feels sure the woman does not like her one bit. A determined Starla knows that if she can just get to her soon-to-be-famous mother in Nashville, her whole life will be perfect. Along the way, she happens upon Eula, who has a baby named James. Together, the three have an adventure of a lifetime, and a friendship is created that stands the test or time and circumstances.
