Do not go into this book expecting a science fiction novel. It’s much more of a coming of age meditative literary novel. I liked it, but I like slow, soft books without a ton of plot that take place most often in the narrator’s mind. It exists in the same space as The Mothers by Britt Bennett in my mind. Contemplative and slow.
