I found the book dull and unlikable. The writing is flat and tells more than shows. Finished it for a book club but otherwise I would have abandoned it! Where were the descriptions of Chicago, the 1970's and 1980's and the Italian American vibe these sisters are supposed to have?? I also felt very angry on behalf of "Kent" the only black character relegated to be William's keeper and caretaker - -that old racist trope? Ugh! I came here to read the negative comments only to know I am not alone!
