After Michael Finkel is fired from his dream job for The New York Times he suddenly stumbles upon a murder case that is was randomly brought into but the suspected murder. He forms a friendship with the accused man and overtime, slowly learns his whole life story.
Finkel tells his backstory that led up to his being fired along with his new opportunity to write a book.
I appreciated the honesty and truths that Finkel shared about his wrong doings. He writes with compassionate honesty for the accused in a murder that has rocked the community. The story was fascinating, but started to drag by the end. I don't know that the length was needed to tell the stories in this book, but I'm a fan, so it was worth it to me.
