This is a story about a girl who's very opinionated and angsty, who goes out of her way to "improve" everything around her and "telling the truth".
I'll be blunt. In the beginning I didn't like Poe at all. I thought she represented everything she was against, and in fact she was.
However, later in the book, I came to realize that Michael Harmon was quite aware of that, and intentionally created Poe to be that way. He truly created a complex hypocritical character, and pointed out her flaws quite visibly for all to see. Even though I didn't like her, I still rooted for her because all of us have a little bit of Poe in ourselves
What I liked about this book was its subtle messages about reality, and the story deserves its title.
The only reason I didn't give it full stars was because some people might misinterpret some of the subtle messages Harmon gave, and either dislike Poe like I did in the beginning, or assume that what Poe was doing throughout most of the book was right.
Overall, this book deserves to be read
