⭐️ 4/5 Overall story of
😎 3.5/5 Character development
💋3/5 Romance
🫦 4/5 Tension
🌶 3.5/5 Spice
🥵 Danielle L Jensen knows how to write tension, she knows how to write a slow burn 🔥 and god dam this book was a satisfying slow burn.
I can’t believe I have to wait for book 2?!? Why do I torture myself like this?!?
Overall I liked this story, it was a different kind of fantasy for me, with a Nordic theme with Vikings, gods and adaptations of old Nordic cultures and customs, I throughly enjoyed this book, its characters and its world were super interesting.
There were slow patches in this book that absolutely bored me to the point I didn’t visit it for a few days, but once I pushed past, the tension built again and I was hooked.
I don’t want to give spoilers in this review purely because the second book isn’t out yet and I feel so strongly about not revealing any twists!
Some characters were more fleshed out than others which frustrated me at times since there are a lot of interesting side characters that pop up but I did get some satisfying moments with a few. Freya sometimes came across very childish but she is fierce and feisty and I’m all for it. She is quick to anger but has passion for what she believes in her heart, especially with so many men trying to use her and treat her like property. I loved Bjorn, the man has my heart ❤️ we love a feminist male 👋🏻
Can’t wait for book 2!
