Very happy that Mexican Gothic was chosen as the next SFF book-club read. I am a bit early, so if you have not read it yet, maybe do not read on�
I fell head over heels for our heroine, Noemí Taboada. She was such a fitting character for this haunting-house story: confident, vivacious, tenacious and yet she could not escape the horror and gaslighting.

At the beginning, I was almost begging her to please leave or to whoever to please make everything alright in the end. But as I wrote, she was stubborn and (view spoiler) . I guess, my sole complaint, was that it took a really long time for the fog to clear: what does really happen in this house? Then suddenly everything happens all at once� but that really should not deter you from reading this.
