Initial review when I joined Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ (many many years after reading it the book)
When Harry Potter first came out, I refused to read it. I didn't want to read books everyone was going crazy for. But then the movie came out, and all it took was one picture of Daniel Radcliffe to get me to read it. He was so cute and sweet looking. So I have him to thank for getting into Harry Potter. Its a fantastic series!

Review update: May 12th, 2013
I just finished reading this book for the third time. The Harry Potter books are books I think I could re-read every single year and never get tired of them. JK Rowling has an amazing ability to create this world that as a reader is 1) so easy to submerge yourself into and 2) a world that seems so real you get disappointed when you remember that this is all just made up. I think this is what I like most about Rowling as an author for this series - her writing isn't anything spectacular in terms of syntax and eloquent wording, however she has an incredible ability to make her stories come to life in a way I've never really experienced with another book. When I read these books (and even watch the films) these characters seem so real, and I feel like they are my friends. These places seem like they actually exist, and you could easily go visit. That is why JK Rowling is a great author. She honestly and truly does make her stories come to life. And I always get a bit disappointed when I've stopped reading or watched one of the films when I realize that these people, places, and situations don't really exist.

I have a very strong emotional attachment to Harry Potter (the character) that I will talk more about once I re-read the 5th book, but it's a sign of a good author (and a great actor....because let's be honest, if Daniel Radcliffe hadn't been so entirely perfect for Harry Potter, I probably wouldn't be so entirely attached to him). And despite how I feel about the last book, I will forever and always love this series with every ounce of my being.
