The Mysterious Affair at Styles (Hercule Poirot, #1)

This is one of those “of its time books. The characters are shallow - Poirot remains a series of mannerisms rather than a rounded character and too many of the others are indistinguishable. I read the Gutenberg download (free on eBook) and some of the language (the “n word for example) jarred. I can see why they edit them for a modern readership.
The resolution is clever and had me fooled - but I finished with the impression that Christie is the master of puzzles rather than of the fleshed-put, really good read.
