"Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,
I am looped in the loops of her hair."
I liked the diction in these poems and the lyrical quality of many of them as well as the references to history/mythology. Nothing really personally striking for me but enjoyable nonetheless.
Reading the poems on their own would probably not have been as enjoyable without the tight curation and timeline done by the editor. The further context in the notes at the end really gave me a better appreciation for some of the poems as they were, grounded in Yeats' lives.
