You Should Be So Lucky

Cat knows how to write a romance for anxious girlies (gender-neutral).
I'm such a Cat fan that I don't even know what to say. She's just sort of... the best? She writes these tender, low-drama, simultaneously low-stakes (no imminent break-ups, no miscommunication) and high-stakes (hello, being queer in the '60s?) stories. It is so life-affirming to read about imperfect people loving and accepting each other so fully.
Emotionally mature people having in-depth, nuanced conversations and making each other meals?? Perfection.
I'll admit that sometimes it is TOO emotionally mature for me, like these people treat each other with SUCH care that my petty inner self wants a bit more drama.
Beware also that the grief here looms large.
