The Death of Ivan Ilych

"The Death of Ivan Ilych" persuaded me that not only Chekhov's brilliant novellas are that profound. There may be various perceptions about how to live life, hundreds of spiritual & religious views heavily conflicting with each other. Yet there is ultimate subject we all find consensus... bitter truth of death.
Tolstoy in a very short text raised a topic of the inevitable. Death is what makes you look for purpose of the existence. Death makes you look at the mirror and question yourself "If today was the last day of life would you regret something?"
I hope we all think of death time to time so we'd check on our priorities.
