Yet again this is a hard book to rate. There’s so many things I loved about this book:
- the food
- the funny best friend that was a great side character
- the Romeo and Juliette type vibes
- the way love for creativity is represented in this book
- the complex parent-child relationships

But then there’s thing that I missed:
- the detail
- more character development especially for the side characters
- tension and chemistry

I feel like this story could have been a lot better if we had even more focus on the character’s development.
Linh’s story needed more. The fact that she loves art is mentioned a lot but it doesn’t feel deep. It’s very surface level which takes a lot of the tension in the story away.
The same goes with the romance in the book. It feels EXTREMELY fast paced and not full of chemistry or tension and I just wish we had more of it.

Overall this story could have been better if we had more focus on the main plot instead of the subplot.
