Embracing Our Selves: The Voice Dialogue Manual

Voice Dialogue, a concept by psychologists Hal and Sidra Stone, is one of the many offspring of Carl Gustav Jung’s Personality Psychology. I’ve skimmed through this edition, to get a feel of the concept. Originally published in 1989, this version seems outdated and the examples feel like clichés. Also, the many interviews come across as implausible concoctions, roleplay or schizophrenia. I missed a description or explanation on how the clients get to a state where different voices come up. How does that work? Not to mention the many breakthroughs clients seem to realise through dreams. So I’ll probably read a more recent work on this topic, to see what’s useful in the current day and age.
