it was amazing

This has been sitting on my shelf forever. Rowing always fascinating me. I live near the north branch of the Chicago river and early mornings there are college row teams skimming the water as I take my walk.
This book is so much more than a story of the sport of rowing. It is about courage, extreme perseverance, and the will to find your dream. Young men from different walks of life thrown together to create a team. Joe Rantz overcomes incredible hardships, obstacles and poverty to work for an education and a spot on the team.
I loved the technical aspects to rowing and the creation of the skulls. Each race had my heart beating just as fast as if I were there. Beautiful story.
