Wow. Just when I think Poe can't get any darker, he goes there. A man with an obsession with teeth marries his cousin (well almost marries - they never make it to the wedding). She gets a wasting disease and deteriorates pretty quickly in all ways except of course her perfect teeth which her to be husband thinks is unnatural. This short story escalates rapidly and it's soon apparent our narrator (who for the first time in all my Poe reading has a name - Egaeus), is slightly mad. The ending is abrupt and horrifying and 100% delightful. Two thumbs up.
