I just adore Iglesias' writing style. The way he'll set a tone that gets you all good and complacent for a minute just to throw something at you that snaps the events into a much larger context or zoom in to the extremely personal sphere of the character, that stuff hits me in the feelings every single time.

It was bleak and gritty but also, much like in The Devil Takes you Home, there's love that's really pure in there and I'm a sucker for it.
