This book killed me. It was an extremely painful reading experience; in fact, I had a stomach ache the entire time I read this book. I knew it would be crushing and heartbreaking.
Palestinians live their lives under occupation every single day since 1948; they are subject to abuse, assault, rape, murder by zionists. Their lands, homes, and livelihoods were stolen. Their lives have been stolen. And this theft has been bought and paid for by western nations. We are all complicit.
The author is a wonderful writer and the story was very well done. I listened to it and read it at the same time, I would highly recommend this form of consumption. I borrowed the audiobook and physical book from the library and will be purchasing my own copy.

"What a privilege it is to be horrified by the violence, rape, and murder one reads in a book - a privilege that people living under a violent occupation don't have because they are living the nightmare."
