Sorry, but this book is a bunch of mumbo-jumbo BS.

The concepts in this book, to me, are common sense and there are no concrete applications to his ideas. Yes, the poor get poorer while the rich get richer, there's a ground-breaking idea! Yes, most people don't know how to manage their money, we know, so how about telling us how?

The majority of the book is Kiyosaki wanking it, telling us stories about his life (which I don't even think are true).

If you want to learn about personal finance and investment strategies, this is not the book for you.

Lionel White I think he is not giving people very much but fluff. You should read: Wealth Building Strategies of the Super Rich ISBN 0615301797.

Karen Stockton-call It sounds as if you didn't read the book. The book is full of concrete examples, though not at the very beginning. The concepts are simple to follow but true. Some people are lost in its simplicity. However, if you had read the book, you would know you're expected to take the leads and use your brain in order to find investment and asset opportunities after that point: his example on where he found real estate deals were specific to his life, and will change with the market. He asks you to use your head and look for your own opportunities--not just follow a canned, step-by-step instruction book on where to go and what to do. If you want to act like a robot he only does what one is told, rather than searching for the types of opportunities presented, you can not have hope of breaking the rat race and becoming wealthy.

Lionel White I think she read the book. That is exactly what the book is. Books like Wealth Building Strategies of the Super Rich give you a list of different strategies that are time-tested to create wealth and advices you on how to implement them according to your own life and inclinations. Kiyosaki did not make that much money, so listening to a person who never acheived great wealth is like listening to a middle manager about how to get to be president of your company. He doesn't even know how to be super rich. Wealth Building Strategies of the Super Rich -

Certainly, this book is not perfect. But, Rich Dad Poor Dad is one of the good books on personal finance. This book is neither a To-Do list nor it provides detailed strategies to make money. Instead, this book inspires and motivates us to reprogram our minds and finances to escape from the Rat Race of “Get up, Go for Job and Pay Bill.

Robert Kiyosaki is not against having a job. But, he is certainly against the Rat Race. At one point in this book, he even suggests keeping day time job and minding your own business. It means to earn money through a job, set aside a sizeable portion of your earnings before spending a single penny and invest your savings in passive income producing assets.
