Barrayar (Vorkosigan Saga, #7)

I enjoyed Shards of Honor and one of the books with Miles Vorkosigan, so I've tried to read this book multiple times. At this point, I give up. Not all the books in this series are good.
This book is incredibly dull, or at least, the beginning is. At the start of the book, we have a long conversation where nothing happens and we don't learn much, apart from the fact that cordelia is pregnant and living in her husband's country. Which we knew from the premise already.
Some dull characters are introduced. We go to the palace, meet a few more characters with more conversations. Nothing is happening apart from talking.
I think part of my dislike is the prequel aspect. I rarely like prequels because there is a lack of narrative tension from knowing what's going to happen already. In Shards of Honor, i didnt really know what was going on when i read it, so perhaps that's why i enjoyed it.
