This BOOK !!!!! Had me in an emotional chokehold! I did not have the courage to finish it and I still don't know why.
Strung is about a author named Randall Morgan who was on his way home one night from staying at a secluded cabin for 14 days, where he always goes when trying to finish the ending of his books. However, when he arrives back into his hometown, East Alin, he is greeted by a disturbing sight.
At one of the traffic lights, near the city speed limit sign, Randall sees an object hanging from a lamppost. He looks closer to see that he is not going crazy, his intuition is correct, and he sees a human hanging from the lamppost.
While Randall is waiting for the police in his car to come to the "scene" he realizes that there are far more strange things happening in his hometown than a human hanging from a lamppost. As he continues to wait for the authorities, he then sees a couple walk right past the human suspending from the lamppost, and neither one of them react to this horrific crime scene.
This is when Randall realizes that something has turned for the worst since he left East Alin.
The author comes right out of the gate swinging headfirst with this shocking opening and this is what kept me reading further and further.
Painting a picture in my head while I am reading, my heart was pounding while I was reading each line to know where this would progress to be.
It kept getting stranger and stranger as I continued to read and more began to unfold which put me into a place of stress, anxiety, which made me want to know like OMG WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AHHHHHH!!!!!!
Loved this book! I am definitely going to continue with this series and recommend this to everyone I know that loves high stakes/suspense thriller books.
