Renee works with a team, which now includes Maddie Bosch, on researching unsolved cases. Maddie comes across some information which she feels may solve the well-known Black Dahlia case once and for all. On another case, they are alarmed when the DNA results come in on a man who seems to be the son of an infamous criminal known as the Pillowcase Rapist. It takes some digging, but they trace the suspect back to something that happened in 1999. Colleen, one of the volunteers on the team who does online research, wants to be more involved with the work, but her curiosity may lead to something very bad. Connelly again proves how skilled he is at writing believable characters, especially women. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for the ARC.
