LIKE DAYYMMNN this book is amazing!! Yeah, I didn't think I'd like Jodi Picoult either, but she surprised me. From the first paragraph, I was hands-down hooked (no, seriously, it starts with the gunshot!). Apparently this isn't even her best one, and to be honest, I can't see how it can possibly get any better than this. It's completely different to the kind of books I usually read -it was in third person, for starters, and I have this thing against third person (especially restricted third person, thankfully this was omniscient. And I couldn't see it written any other way.) It was also my first proper courtroom drama, and one of the few times I've bothered reading adult fiction (I usually can't relate to adult fiction) -in general, it was just an astonishing book, so well written I forgot it was just a story, with an ending so conflicting and unexpected, even now I can't stop thinking about it.
And then I finished it, and I was sitting there aimlessly wondering what there was left to do with my life.
